our story

Partners in circus and life, welcome to two very different humans that share a love for movement and expression through circus. It is our language for interacting with the world.

Back in 2015 we first met in Pōneke/Wellington across the acro mat, where we first started training and performing together in between Evelyns circus training escapades over to Montreal. The deal was sealed upon moving in together to ‘The Bone Zone’: A creative warehouse where we fell in to immersive projects, training and performing in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.

We are now very blessed to call Whāingaroa/Raglan home for the past few years and are very happy to be bringing circus entertainment to the Waikato Region and rest of the country.

  • Evelyn Coulson

    CO-FOUNDER

    Originally from Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, Evelyn Coulson is a pocket rocket acrobat who has been charming audiences across New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Central America since 2015. Evelyn specialises in hula hoop, partner acrobatics and handbalance.

    She has taught and performed with well known circus companies Circability, The Dust Palace and The Circus Hub as well as toured with Kids Day Out Variety Show and the Wandering Circus. She has also brought many laughs and smiles to kids’ faces in school tours throughout Auckland with music company – Badaboom – which created innovative storytelling through fusions of percussion, circus and puppeteering.

    Behind the scenes, Evelyn is a passionate proponent of the arts, and over her years has been advocating for circus in the broader arts ecosphere. She maintains a close working relationship with the Aotearoa New Zealand Circus Association (ANZCA) to achieve this mahi and she can often be found hunched over a spreadsheet or funding application.

  • Nic Davies

    CO-FOUNDER

    Nic Davies is a freelance circus performer and trainer. He discovered circus coming from a background of dance and outdoor adventure. He has toured with big top circus, festivals, theatre and street performance over the past 10 years. Nick specialises in Aerial Straps, Group and Partner Acrobatics, Hat Manipulation and Cyr Wheel.

    He has performed with companies such as Circus Aotearoa, Colossal, Tibia, The Dust Palace and his small independent company ‘You Who Productions’. Some highlight shows would be performing at ‘Menagerie Deluxe’ at the Wellington Theatre Royal, Tibia’s ‘Stack That Bass’ Fringe tour 2019 and the main role in ‘Ithaca’ by The Dust Palace 2020. Nick has worked as a trainer at Wellington Circus Trust, Kapiti Circus, Slipstream Circus and The Dust Palace.
